I am a professional and dedicated career nanny that has worked as such for the last 20 years and have a passion for helping children learn and grow into well rounded individuals, and especially enjoy when the children learn something new that I have worked to teach them. I have experience with toilet training, sleep training, helping infants and toddlers reach developmental milestones, engaging in arts and crafts, cooking and managing the social calendars and activities for the children in my care. I have a clean driving record, can provide my own vehicle for transporting children. I am infant CPR certified and have taken several ECE courses. I am also comfortable doing basic household management duties such as grocery shopping, running errands, doing laundry, and other basic household tasks.
I have worked with children ranging in age from newborn to early adolescence and have about 20 years of childcare experience. My childcare philosophy is that I believe children should have a balance between structure, free play and active learning, while insuring safety is maintained through being a compassionate and interactive caregiver. I'm not afraid to get on the floor and play or get dirty with the kids outside. I believe I am an important team member like part of the family and not just an employee.
I am seeking to connect with some families that can embrace my experience, knowledge and philosophy and feel it will blend well with their family. Rates are negotiable yet I do like to factor in hours, expectations and duties. I look forward to hearing from families looking for a fun loving, compassionate nanny to care for their children.

Shianna Ames served as my son’s nanny from August 14, 2017 through August 3, 2018.  My son was almost 1 when Shianna started.  We hired Shianna because my son needed one-on-one care due do some medical issues.  Shianna navigated the unique circumstances like the professional she is and provided my son with wonderful care.  She was punctual, and I don’t recall her ever calling in sick.  She always planned ahead with us when she requested to take paid time off.  Shianna was attentive and devoted with my son.  I believe she played a key role in advancing his language skills.  My son adored Shianna and still does.  He is very happy when she comes over to babysit from time to time.  While I loved having Shianna as my son’s nanny, once he recovered from his medical situation, I felt it was time to put him back in daycare, so he could experience development around children his own age.  Whether you need a nanny for only a year or longer-term, I believe you will be impressed and more than satisfied with Shianna.  I fully recommend her to anyone in search of quality child care.
